Jane Eveshodioni
Visual Artist

Jane Eveshodioni Ugah (b.2000), is a Nigerian visual artist from Ososo, Edo state. She holds a BFA from the University of Benin.

The artist's creative works blends reality and dreams using various media to depict the human body and its connection with nature, cultural mythology, and the ecosystem. She portrays the cracks in the human psyche through fragmented rock layers and evoke feelings of solitude and tranquility away from city life.

In 2022, she has featured in group exhibitions such as made in Nigeria art exhibition at Discovery Museum in Abuja, Identity- Who are you? At 1952 art Gallery in Lagos and in 2023 she exhibited in Spain-Nigeria winners exhibition, at matrix gallery of contemporary art Abuja. She lives and works between Benin and Lagos Nigeria

 

ARTIST STATEMENT

“My work blends fantasy and reality, exploring the unity between humans and nature. I am inspired by my personal experiences and the idea of humanity's immortality. The cracks in my art represents the human experience and the fusion aims to raise awareness of the ecosystem and subconscious desires. I approach my work with an open mind, embracing new possibilities and adventures”.
